Squirrel Bait – Choose Your Poision, Skag Heaven 1987

The start of the track feels like that LSD you took and thought was a dud suddenly kicked and things look promising. Then you remember it's too late, as you already took that fuck off line of speed. After the initial rush, the track prematurely ejaculates into yet another punk track, and you realise you've thrown away what would have been a great trip. The entire song doesn't last long either. Drums, however, epic hand skills – a case in point that real groupies know the drummer is always the best target.

Whitehouse – Why You Never Became a Dancer

'And this is for the You' - you, who watches humanity drop it's ice cream before having the first lick and are hit with a trembling lower lip when it dawns on you that it is still an infant compared to the vast Aeons of time the Earth doth witness before us, an infant looking at you like a parched coca-cola addicted monkey looks at you before clawing up your leg to bite through the sweating can in your palm. Yes it's harsh and loud and disgusting and disturbing blah blah blah but what isn't these days? I, for one am pro-disturbance, and although it can be argued that artistry as this disperses more violence into the collective, I think we need to take a dear look at our definition of violence. The cheap, glossy 'do not disturb' sign hanging off Capitalism's knob is crumpled, stained and still damp. Mother Gaia slaps us around the face and holds a mirror to our bruised chops, peeling off our caustic 'identities' and we remember our persona really was just a mask all along. This song is no more acrid to me than your 6 year old cousin spending hours every day looking at herself through insta selfie filters.

Recess Remixes Teaser Reel – Scrillex and Kill The Noise ft. Fatman Scoop and Michael Angellikos.

This is what happens when you drill it into a generation that drugs are bad, whilst feeding them chicken nuggets, pharmaceuticals, overcooked peas and 'Nick Jr' from the moment they can start on solids. I'm from the Cartoon Network, MSN & Piczo gen and thankfully I caught the edge of true South London Dubstep from my isolated tudor framed Suffolk bedroom through intensive chatroom scrolling and Limewire/Bee.mp3/Napster missions. At one point, Scrillex was making tunes that I deemed would somehow at least stop some people cutting themselves. He made a swift trajectory in 2014 with this album, that would only inspire it's listeners to aspire to buy their newborn an iPad for it's first Christmas.

Leaving aside the sounds, the accompanying video feels like the moment you realise you're friend's a little bit lame, as they put it on saying 'Hey, I know something really trippy man' at the beginning of a mushroom trip, and you glimpse for a second but pause to wipe the tear that's falling for humanity and become besotted with the glistening streak across your index finger, before getting up in a rage to unplug the speakers.
